Howdy there. I'm Morgin, a disabled (physically and mentally) poor Chinese diaspora nonbinary trans masc guy living in the US Midwest who's pretty dedicated to grassroots mutual aid & community organizing. I'm here because I need help speedrunning my medical transition before it's out of reach again.
The goal is USD$10,000 to cover:
- A total hysterectomy to eliminate my menstrual cycle, which has been scheduled for October 8, 2025.
- A double mastectomy/top surgery to flatten my chest, which has been scheduled for November 18, 2025.
- The cost of meals during recovery, where my movement will be restricted (especially after top surgery).
- Travel and hotel stay for a week after top surgery, during which I will be out of state.
I've known I was queer since I was 17, started testosterone HRT when I was 27, and now I'm turning 30 this October. The main reasons my medical transition have been delayed so long is because of lack of familial support, lack of savings, being in a toxic marriage where I was forced to misgender myself constantly, and losing my workplace insurance when I was terminated for making mistakes in a department I was I was not trained in and was working temporarily. My finances have been downhill ever since losing that job in 2024, which offered a health insurance plan that would cover surgeries to alleviate my dysphoria. I am fortunate enough to now be working part-time in an accommodating environment that does not aggravate my chronic pain and fatigue, but I recently received an email from HR that declared that our workplace health insurance benefits would only be offered to full-time employees starting in 2026.
My medical transition is slipping out of reach again, just when I had finally gotten my foot back into the door for the consultations after months of waiting patiently.
I can't delay my transition any longer. The political climate in the USA is actively hostile to any marginalized person who does not fit the Able-Bodied White Cisgender Male category, and as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse & marital rape who is also a disabled trans person of color and doesn't come from wealth, my life is in constant danger.
(Some details have been omitted to protect my privacy.)
For now, the goal of this campaign has been raised to $10k. This should be enough to cover the estimated cost of my total hysterectomy ($5,366.94 exact), my top surgery and associated recovery costs, and most fees that GoFundMe would take during the campaign. My income will be drastically impacted as I'll be out of work for at least 8 weeks. Just for reference, I take home about ~$750 a month after my insurance benefits and taxes are deducted from my paychecks, and I only have enough in savings to cover the upfront fee of the top surgery.
If you've read this far, thank you for listening. Any help you can offer or chip in is greatly appreciated.
