Help a disabled trans man get an education
Hi, my name is Axel. I'm currently in school for payroll and accounting administration, however I need some help. I owe the school $1000 to pay for my Certified Payroll Professional courses, so I can be officially allowed to work in my field. Because I am on ODSP, my OSAP will not give me enough funding to cover this cost. So, essentially, because I'm disabled, I get less money from OSAP than all the other students. This is making it harder for me to achieve goals. I want to be part of the workforce again, so I can help my partner with the finances and not feel like a burden, as ODSP only gives me $1300 a month. In my spare time, I'm part of local nonprofit Hauz Noir, I run the local Sudbury Fibre Arts Guild, and I help my community wherever I can. I worked the election Ontario had this year, and the money I make from that is also going to my education. My goal once I graduate is to be hired full time for a nonprofit so I can continue to use my skills to help my community wherever I can! I've chosen to dedicate myself to making the world a better place. I'm diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and POTS, as well as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and BPD, which makes education difficult for me to begin with, but I've been pushing through and am set to graduate in September of this year if everything goes well. If I can't pull off this payment however, I will be forced to drop out, or in the absolute best case scenario, change my program. Absolutely anything helps, and any over funding that happens will go directly to the Women's Shelter here in Sudbury.
