Four years ago, you all came together to help my friend, a Rohingya refugee, escape domestic violence. Thanks to all of you, she found freedom from her abuser and a safe place to live with her baby. Today, my friend is a U.S. citizen living independently. Unfortunately, times are getting tougher, especially on refugees, and life is pushing my friend to the financial brink. She is disabled by severe rheumatoid arthritis, particularly in her hands. She is a single mother raising her five year old all alone. Bills are starting to pile up, and with benefits being cut, she has nowhere to turn for help.
