Hello My name is Syd. I am a 30-year-old dialysis patient who's been doing dialysis for the past 2 years. I was born with a plethora of health issues including people kipple feil and spina bifida. I had surgery on my spine when I was three so I could walk and with that came a flurry of other health issues including a neurogenic, bladder and kidney problems. It's only within the last couple of years I've had to do dialysis with my physical problems. I also have mental health issues including bipolar disorder 2 and borderline personality disorder... I have a very loving and supporting set of friends, however, my family isn't very supportive. They've recently asked me to not live with them due to my mental health issues and my family has not been supportive of me throughout my time of having mental health issues. My father passed away suddenly a year ago and he was really the only support I had. Now I have left on my own. I've been at the hospital for my mental health and the psychiatric care for the last month. I haven't been able to work my job which is a part-time job and I'm waiting for local government funds to be available to me like the Ontario disability and support program ODSP and the Ontario works system OW. I'm raising money to help me stay afloat with my medical bills. I pay for catheters and pills out of pocket and I have insurance that I pay for as welllI've been unable to work and I'm not sure how long I will be in the hospital for any dollar matters.
