Help a Disabled Single Mom Keep Her Kids Safe and Housed

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Aimee.
I’m a single mom of two amazing kids (13 and 11). Three years ago, I had to flee their father after 18 years of marriage, due to domestic violence.
Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to keep our little family of 3 safe despite enormous challenges.

I am legally disabled — both physically and mentally.

Physically, I live with severe spine damage (degenerative disc disease, spinal fusion, and injuries from childhood abuse) that cause constant pain and limits my ability to walk, sit, or even lie down comfortably.

Mentally, I have complex PTSD from a lifetime of abuse, but I’m working hard every day to break the cycle so my children can grow up in safety and love.

Unfortunately, my children’s father does not pay the court-ordered child support or alimony he's supposed to. Despite applying for every form of assistance available, I still fall short of covering even our most basic bills. For three years, we’ve been living right on the edge of homelessness.

Through it all, my kids have been my motivation and my joy. My oldest is autistic and has ADHD, which makes consistent access to the foods and clothes he needs especially important. My younger child is bright, loving, and growing fast too. They both deserve stability, safety, and the chance at a childhood free from fear.

I'm currently pursuing multiple jobs and I'm sure that one will come through but I need to cover bills in the mean time.

Your donation would be so appreciated and go directly toward:

Rent: We are behind and at risk of eviction. Our low-income housing has expedited rules for eviction,so catching up is urgent.

Food: Especially the specific foods my autistic son can tolerate and eat consistently.

Clothing: Both kids need clothes that fit. I wasn't able to buy them any for the new school year. I’ve lost 75 lbs this year but can’t afford clothes for myself that fit properly.

Transportation: We no longer have a car (it was taken by my ex). Even a cheap used vehicle would change our lives — letting us buy groceries, get to appointments, and enjoy free local parks and nature again. Being disabled with kids and no transportation really impacts the opportunities available to us.

Computer/Laptop: I am actively seeking part-time remote work to bridge the gap and become more self-sufficient, but most jobs require a computer to apply, so I keep missing out on remote job opportunities because I don't have the basic requirements in the job postings.

Pet Care: We’ve kept our pets safe with us through fleeing and everything — including our 20-year-old cat and two beloved dogs. Our younger pup still needs to be spayed, which will improve her health and make daily life easier for me and the kids.

I want to mention that -

I have sole custody of my children.

I have no substance issues or child welfare cases or legal issues.

My life is quiet and simple — I just want to give my kids a safe, steady home where they never have to see the violence I grew up with.

It’s hard for me to ask for help, but for my kids’ safety and future, I will.

If you can donate — thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t, sharing this campaign is also powerful.

With gratitude,
Aimee
