Description: I am a disabled art teacher living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, fibromyalgia, and POTS. Over the years, my strength and stamina have declined, and this is the first year I am too sick to work. My husband works overtime to help cover our finances, but I am mostly home-bound due to my disability, mobility needs, and where we live. I have tried several secondhand walking supports, but they just aren't enough anymore.

A power scooter would be life-changing for me. With it, I could go outside with my kids when they play, take them for walks, and visit the park. I could explore Vermont with some of the freedom that walking folks have, and I would be much safer in the snow and on hilly, rocky ground. The scooter would also let me carry things, so I could finally go shopping again—something I can't do right now. It would help me retain strength and stamina and stay active with my family for longer.
