Hello, this is not a fundraiser for me.

This is a fundraiser for a dear friend who is trying to escape a domestic violence situation. My friend is queer and disabled. The money raised will be utilized to cover moving expenses, housing, and legal assistance for divorce, as legal aid groups of the area this friend currently lives in will not provide help in DV cases.

My friend is caring for all of the couple's disabled pets and intends to maintain custody of them in the move. My friend feels extremely unsafe due to living with the abusive spouse's parents. The spouse has possession of my friend's car, leaving my friend trapped at the house in an isolated, rural area with no public transit.

While many friends are utilizing our limited resources to support our friend, we need help. This friend currently lives approximately 900 miles from a robust support system in Atlanta, Georgia. We are trying to get our friend to that area.
