Hello, my name is Garnet aka TransFat. I am a dragqueen, an artist, an educator, and also disabled. I went through hell last year trying to find affordable accessible housing here in Chicago. It doesn't exist. When I lost my apartment during covid, the only way I was able to afford a new place was by crowd funding my rent. I now have a new chronic pain disorder that causes my body to attack the nerve fibres in my joints. My body is just too painful and weak to go through all that I went through last year over again. My current apartment is on rent special and will increase by $300/month in October. I'm once again asking my community to help me raise funds to cover the cost of rent so I can stay housed another year.
Any amount you can spare is deeply appreciated.
