Hello I am a disabled multiracial lesbian artists living in San Francisco. I have autism, fibromyalgia, ehlers-danlos syndrome, PCOS, and multiple chemical sensitivity. I live in constant pain whether it is muscle spasms so severe that they tear my muscles, or my hypermobile joints constantly sliding out of their sockets. During lockdown it was difficult for me to access the medical care that I needed to maintain my health; sometimes the only option was to go to the emergency room, where I spent a great deal of time. Once the lockdown ended, I began a classroom job as a paraeducator. I disclosed my disability and the accommodations I would need because of it. Unfortunately, I was not offered those accommodations, and my health declined rapidly. My doctors eventually told me that without proper accommodations, I would not be able to work safely in the classroom. After notifying the administration that I had not been offered my legally required accommodations, I left that job. I began a childcare job that I thought would be more suited to my physical needs. However, my pain has not improved. In fact, without intensive Medical Care, I am unlikely to regain some Mobility end level of pain that I had before taking the classroom job. At my current job, I suffer multiple dislocations daily; then have to spend the majority of my off-work hours completely bed bound due to the pain and dislocations. I would like to raise 4,000 dollars which will allow me to take some time off of work so that I can get medical treatment and heal. Hopefully, I will be able to gain some of my previous mobility or at least preserve some of the mobility I have!
I will give you things if you donate! Donors who donate over $100 dollars can receive a handmade ashtray, vase, or freshwater pearl jewelry! Drop me a message on instagram @fka_figs or email me, and we can chat about what you’d like to receive!
