Hi, my name is Paula.
On the evening of May 4th, I called an ambulance for my mother.
That was not how I wanted to spend my birthday. My greatest gift is always a healthy, happy Mama.
Instead, she was in trouble, and we were driven to Memorial Hospital.
Diagnosed initially with pneumonia, the decision was made to life flight her to Saint Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City for ICU cardiac care.
My brother drove me here to stay with her.
She's very sick. I don't know how long we will have to stay.
I have slept in a recliner at bedside. I have one change of clothing.
I am very tired and feeling grubby.
As a retired disabled person, my Social Security is my only income and I can't afford hotel costs, laundromat costs and meals every day for an undetermined number of days.
I'm hoping to get a little help covering these costs. The funds will help me have a real bed to sleep in, a place to bathe and wash my clothes, and food to eat.
This help will allow me to stay by my mother's side and encourage her toward a goal of improving her oxygen levels and fighting off the effects of pneumonia and edema.
She's very sick, and I will not leave her alone far from home, even if I have to sleep on the floor.
Seriously, I would rather sleep in a bed.
If you're able to help--any amount is greatly appreciated.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this fundraising link with people you know.
As always, prayers and good vibrations are most welcome.
