Help a Loving Single Dad Stay Close to His Son

Hello, my name is Chris Larsen, and I’m a single father doing everything I can to stay close to my teenage son. I’m reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times in my life.

In early August of 2023, I was laid off from my job, and since then, I haven’t been able to find stable, sustainable work. As a divorced dad with 49% custody, I have my son every other week. My priority has always been to provide him with a stable and loving home, but without an income, I’ve been relying on my retirement savings and the help of my father to cover rent, bills, and basic expenses. Unfortunately, my savings are depleted, and my father, who is retired, can no longer provide support.

Now, I’m facing the possibility of losing everything. If I don’t receive help soon, I may have to leave Southern California and move back to Iowa, 1,400 miles away. This move would separate me from my son, and I wouldn’t be able to see him often, if at all. On top of that, I’d have to give up my dog and cat, further adding to the heartbreak.

The funds I’m raising will go directly toward rent, bills, and basic living expenses to help me stay close to my son while I continue looking for stable work. Every little bit helps, whether it’s a donation or just sharing my story.
