Help a deserving family rebuild their lives

I have created this fundraiser for my dear Niece, her husband and beautiful daughter. It is important to tell you a brief history of the last three years. In late 2019, Robert, Serena's husband developed a rare brain infection. Although he made it through the brain was impacted leaving Robert unable to walk, severe Ataxia and difficulty speaking. Robert is a former Marine, and at the time of the infection was a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserves and has a PhD in Engineering. He fights everyday to get back the abilities he has lost. About six months after Robert fell ill it was discovered that Serena had breast cancer, she underwent a mastectomy, chemo and radiation treatments. Serena has taken on every challenge she has been faced while still being a Great mom to her Daughter Elisa.

Serena has accepted her new responsibilities of being the primary provider (she is a Professor), caretaker and a great Mom to her Daughter.

Just when you thought things could not get any worse on Saturday December 4, as they were arriving home the fire department had block the road to their home. What no one could ever imagine it was their house that was on fire. There house burned (a three alarm fire), although the house is still standing there was severe smoke damage and as it is today the house is a total loss.

Three of their beloved animals, two bunnies and a hamster pass away due to the fire, one cat is receiving care at the vet and another cat is missing.

To be honest, I do not know how Serena finds the strength to rise up everyday, she is a super women in my eyes. I am asking for your help to help Serena and her family. There are so many unanswered questions, where will they live now, how are they going to be able to replace just the basic needs that were lost in the fire. How will their young daughter get through the trauma of losing her beloved animals and her home.

This is a family living paycheck to paycheck doing the best they can with the challenges they have faced. Please if you could spare a dollar or two it would be very much appreciated. It would be a true blessing if we could raise enough for them to get into a house or apartment in time for Christmas, it is Elisa's 7th Birthday on December 24, please help us make it a happy one for them all.
