I'm raising money so I can take a month off work for cancer treatment. Last year, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Helping her through this journey was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Between appointments, visits to the ER, treatment, and 2 brain surgeries, all while working overnight and raising 4 kids, I thought I couldn't handle anymore. Well, life had a lesson. I was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. In the beginning, I was grateful it was caught early and told myself, "I got this." Well, in August, I had a biopsy done and somehow caught an infection. It went septic, and I was hospitalized for a week. After I was released, I needed to take more time off to recover. Needless to say, my sick hours, PTO, and savings are all gone.
I'm feeling beyond defeated. I truly feel like I have no one to turn to. I've reached out for resources, and while some are so amazing and helpful, I still have bills. I start chemo and radiation next week. If I can make enough for remaining bills, I can take off the first month of treatment. I can't imagine working overnights while doing treatment, but as of now, I don't have a choice. Any help is appreciated. Even if you can only share, I'd be forever grateful.
