Tracy Gonzalez made the heartbreaking decision to leave the United States and move to Mexico to be with her spouse — when yet another tragedy struck. She was driving down I-95 with her whole life in tow when the trailer burst into flames, destroying her most personal possessions and adding unimaginable grief to an already difficult situation. Tracy has been a leading voice in the American Families United community for years. Time and again, Tracy has been the person others could count on when they needed help, whether that meant organizing fundraisers, giving money, helping with legal matters, or simply showing up when a family was going through a hard time. So many people have known exactly who to call when life became overwhelming, and she has answered that call with generosity and care.

Now, after spending so many years helping others, she is the one facing an unimaginable loss. After losing the country she loves due to our broken immigration system, Tracy now lost nearly everything she owned in the fire.
