Help a Dallas Family Restore Heat and Hope
Donation protected
Update: We are so close to the halfway mark. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far. We still need a bit more help to get there. Snow is due in Dallas in two days and now it’s 52 degrees inside and dropping. Please help spread the message or donate if you can.
We are reaching out in desperation for help with an urgent gas repair after our provider shut off our meter due to a gas leak on Christmas Eve 2024. Since then, our family has been left without heat, hot water, or the ability to cook. Unfortunately, this situation comes at an extremely difficult time for us.
I have a genetic immune disorder that requires a medication that suppresses my immune system, making me particularly vulnerable to infections. Last year, while working, I contracted tuberculosis, and because I was new in my job, I had no sick/vacation time so I was let go from work. Since then, I have been unemployed, and my unemployment benefits have run out.
The cost to repair the leak has been quoted at $4,019, which is beyond our current means.
This is the first time we’ve found ourselves in a situation like this, and I have to admit, asking for help is difficult and feels quite humbling. However, I believe that sometimes circumstances arise that are out of our control, and we must reach out for support. We are hoping to find assistance, either through donations or by connecting with a plumber in the Dallas, TX area who may be willing to help pro bono.
With the weather getting colder, the situation becomes more urgent. I am struggling to recover in these conditions, and I pray we can get help soon to restore our heat so I can focus on my health and return to work.
We sincerely appreciate any support you can offer, be it a donation, sharing our story, or simply spreading the word.
Thank you from the depths of our hearts for any assistance you can provide.
With the greatest gratitude from our family to yours.
