Hi everyone, my name is Vitoria and I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea for my amazing father, Valdemir. His unwavering dedication to our family, especially to my brother, Vinicius, inspires me deeply, but now he needs our support to address a critical health issue.

Our lives changed drastically in April 2018, when my brother, Vinicius, suffered a severe work-related car accident in the United States, resulting in a traumatic brain injury. My parents immediately flew to the U.S. to be by his side. Thankfully, due to the nature of the accident, Vinicius's medical expenses are fully covered by workers' compensation, and my father lives off a compensation salary that supports Vinicius's ongoing care.

For the past six years, my father has been Vinicius's primary caregiver, dedicating his life to helping him daily and attending his therapies. My mother, a public school teacher in Brazil, had to return to her job to secure her retirement and maintain our family's income, visiting only a couple of times a year. This means my father has been facing the challenges of Vinicius's recovery while managing his own health.

Unfortunately, my father now faces a significant challenge: a severe inguinal hernia. The pain from this hernia is impacting his ability to care for Vinicius, as lifting and assisting my brother's movements only aggravates his condition daily. He desperately needs surgery.

Crucially, my father does not have valid health insurance. This means the full cost of this surgery, including surgeon fees, anesthesia, and hospital charges, will fall entirely on us. The estimated cost is $6,100 USD.

Our goal with this campaign is to raise these funds so my father can get the surgery. The money will be used to cover:

To ensure transparency and streamline the process, funds will be transferred to the account of Edson, a childhood friend of our family who has already helped us immensely and whom we trust completely. He will ensure that 100% of the funds are used for my father's medical expenses.
