On April 1, 2025, a 42-year-old father of four suffered a brain stem stroke while at work, one day before his daughter’s 12th birthday. He was hospitalized for almost two months and is now trying to recover from this traumatic medical condition. Ormando had twenty blood transfusions, a few surgeries and pneumonia while in the hospital. He is out of the hospital and is currently being seen by several doctors and specialists to treat and get him back to a normal life.

At this time Ormando cannot work or take care of himself. This summer, his 12-year-old daughter has dedicated her summer in helping her dad along with other family members. Ormando was in the hospital for 58 days and unfortunately all of his medical bills will not be covered by insurance. Ormando’s wish is to cover his medical expenses until he is able to walk and start back working.

Update: Ormando is going to physical and occupational therapy a few days per week to help him recover and walk again. At home, he practices what he has learned. He is able to feed himself somewhat, but every independent step towards recovery is a win!
