Hello, my name is Andy. I’m a proud dad of three wonderful sons and husband to my amazing wife, Emma. Family is everything to me, and for years I’ve worked as a delivery driver to support them and stay independent. I’ve always loved my job because it keeps me active, connected with people, and able to provide for those I love most.

The past few years have been extremely challenging for me and my family. Two years ago, I suffered a terrifying health scare when I tore my oesophagus and had severe internal bleeding. I very nearly lost my life, and it was a time that deeply shook us all.

Since then, I’ve been determined to keep going and live life to the fullest. But earlier this year, complications from my Type 1 Diabetes meant I had to have my leg amputated. It’s been the hardest challenge yet — but I refuse to let it stop me. My goal is simple: to get back to work and back behind the wheel.

In the months ahead, I’ll also be placed on the waiting list for both a kidney and pancreas transplant. This is a vital step in managing my health long-term, but it will mean more time away from work and more uncertainty for my family. Having an accessible van will give me independence, dignity, and the chance to return to the job I love when I’m able.

The cost of adapting such a vehicle is £13,000 — more than I can manage on my own.
