Help a DACA Therapist Cover Unexpected Legal Fees

Hi everyone,

I’m a DACA recipient, and I've diligently maintained my status since 2014. Through DACA, I worked as a waitress to pay for my bachelor's degree. Afterward, I earned a master's degree, again paying the costs while working as a case manager in the foster care community. At times, I had to rely on credit cards to cover necessary expenses while using my entire income for tuition.

Miami has been home for almost my entire life, since arriving with my parents at age 5. At 29, I am finally using my master's degree to be a therapist. I have worked as a case manager in the foster care community since I was 22. It is often demanding work, but rewarding. I enjoy working with the only community I have ever known, and I have been able to know it even better through various volunteer opportunities cleaning up the beach, distributing clothing within the community, trying my best with the children I serve.

Unfortunately my parents are no longer around, and the only family I have left is my younger brother who is struggling himself. I am writing because I'm facing a sudden financial predicament, which is causing a lot of stress. There are days and weeks where I do not have money to eat. I'm trying my best working over 40 hours a week and doing Uber but it's simply not enough with this unexpected expense .

Despite maintaining DACA since its beginning and paying almost $700 every two years, I received a removal hearing notice. I had to hire an attorney to close the case, and I am behind on rent this month. Any help would be crucial to being able to get back on track with bills. It's tough to manage a sudden $2,900 bill, plus high bills like a Miami rent of $2100 and car insurance. I'm trying to have savings for emergencies and survive difficult times.
