Help a Comedian Facing Eviction
Donation protected
As I'm sure you know, I've had some setbacks in recent years. Not only COVID, the passing of my mom, early prostate cancer, LIFE. All the while maintaining my career as a stand-up comedian. Disability is a joke, being denied twice. All the while, bills mounting up.
I'm happy to say, I'm cancer-free, thanks to early detection and treatment. But, I'm now facing eviction from a home I've lived in for almost 25 years. I've maintained it after my mother's passing, including remodeling it to make it my own. Because of being ill, I was hardly working, living off savings which quickly dwindled. Now, I'm late on my rent, and the eviction process has begun.
Simply put, I'm scared of losing my place with no place to go and joining the growing homeless problem. It's hard to tell jokes on the streets and there's nothing funny at all about it. The job market is tough out there for a man my age. So, there's that. I'm at the end of my rope and quite frankly ready to give up. I've tried to avoid setting this up, but I'm now left with no choice. All I can do is go to sleep and pray that you actually give a damn.
