Did you know that 1 in 4 children live in households where domestic abuse has occurred? These children carry invisible scars – anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic stress – often struggling in silence.
Many are unable to continue in mainstream education. Over 2000 children in Cornwall are currently home-schooled due to the trauma they have experienced from domestic violence. And these are just the ones we know about.
At True Butterflies Foundation. We are dedicated to supporting individuals and families to move forward after the trauma of abuse and rebuild their lives.
Our newest initiative – the Metamorphosis Academy - is specifically designed to educationally support school-aged children who have been affected by domestic abuse.
What is the Metamorphosis Academy?
The Metamorphosis Academy is a safe, nurturing learning environment that provides:
• Educational support for children unable to thrive in a traditional setting
• Therapeutic care tailored to their trauma
• Emotional Development Support to help rebuild trust and confidence.
• Person-centred programs that pave the way for healing and potential reintegration into mainstream education
After just a short pilot program, demand has increased – our sessions are currently full, and we are ready to expand, but we can’t do it without your help
