Help a child Follow the Wilberfoss Way at home!
Donation protected
The Headteacher and staff at Wilberfoss CoE Primary School are working very hard to keep all children engaged in a new style of learning made necessary by yet another lockdown, using all resources possible to help pupils keep up with their education.
Having a home computer has become vital in the current COVID-19 crisis, but not everyone can afford to buy or borrow a machine.
Children who are accessing online learning are happy and excited to have a bit of
normality, at a time where we've all had to adjust to a lifestyle in the unknown.
Children have enjoyed listening to their teachers read or commenting on work they have submitted online through voice notes and messages. They are able to maintain relationships, keep motivated and continue to learn every day.
This only highlights the struggle that some children and parents are going through by not having access to the technology that makes this work easier for all (chromebooks, internet, tablets). We could all be in this predicament for the next few weeks, or even months.
The school is now at its capacity of chromebooks that can be loaned out - to date (11 January 2021) the school has received no chromebooks from the the Department of Education. We are now trying to raise money to buy some new chromebooks for our children to use - every chromebook bought will also then come back into school, thereby improving the IT offer in school as well. By donating whatever you can afford, you will make a huge difference to our school and our children.
Thank you for your generous support!
