In rural Nigeria, over 10.5 million children are not receiving an education. This is not because they lack ability or curiosity. It is because many families either simply cannot afford the resources needed to send their children to school or hold false stereotypes about education.
As a country known to have a reasonably stellar education, Nigeria's rural literacy situation is an anomaly that highlights the literacy gap between its rural and urban communities.

Justice through Literacy is actively bridging that gap through:
• Introductory summer camps that introduce and prepare children (and their families) from low-income backgrounds for entry into school
Scholarships to cover the cost of their elementary education
Mentorship to support them as they continue their education

This year we are launching MathLove Camp, a summer program designed to help children see how math connects to their everyday lives—from farming and markets to helping with their parents’ small businesses.

Our goal is to make learning practical, empowering, and exciting so the children begin to see education as a path to opportunity. After the camp, interested children will be sponsored to elementary school.

How You Can Help

Sponsor a child’s experience at MathLove Camp. Your contribution goes directly toward supporting a child’s learning and future:

  • $20 – $50: Provides a child’s camp learning supplies, including notebooks, pencils, and learning materials.
  • $80 – $150: Covers a child’s meals, camp supplies, and digital learning access throughout the camp.
  • $150+: Covers all of the above and goes towards paying their first-year tuition in elementary school

Every donation helps give a child the chance to learn, grow, and imagine a different future.
Together, we can help bridge the literacy gap— one child at a time.
