Help a chicken guy save his farm
Donation protected
My friend and "chicken mentor" has been hit hard by hurricane Irma on Friday. His house and farm were pretty much devastated. He's lost buildings, equipment and animals. He lost chicks, juveniles, and 3 cabinet incubators full of eggs.
His farm has been his business and pride and joy for many years and now he's in danger of losing it all.
Even worse is that he's in the U.S. on a work visa and since his farm is the basis for his visa, if the farm is gone so is he.
He's worked so hard to produce the most perfect birds he can (and boy, are they nice!) travels the country going to shows, he's always willing to help and he's been my "chicken mentor" for years. Anytime I have a stupid question he's my "go to guy" and he's always helpful.
He really needs help to recover from this disaster and save his business and his visa so he doesn't have to leave his home, friends, and hard work behind.
He needs repairs to his buildings, equipment, and enclosures but all he keeps telling me is that he just wants to be able to feed the volunteers who are helping out with the cleanup from this disaster. He's even been on Facebook asking for help for someone else but he's never asked for anything for himself so I'm asking for him.
If you can spare even $1 it will help immensly. I know there's a lot of people who are in desperate need right now for the same reason so if you can't donate, I'll understand but please take the time to share this with all the chicken people you can.
Our community of crazy chicken people is so great, close knit, and helpful I'm sure we can all pull together and make this work. I can't imagine how he felt not being able to evacuate all the birds. Having to leave them would have broken my heart and it did his as well.
To all the Crazy Chicken People out there, Thank You!!!
