Help My Former CASA Friend Overcome Hard Times

Hi friends. Many of you may remember when I volunteered for CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates. After being a CASA for my assignee for 6.5 years, I have remained his friend after he aged out of the system. You may realize that kids with this background sometimes have difficulty in adulthood. In his late 20s now, he has fallen on some hard times - he lost a job recently when he couldn't get to work because he didn't have enough money for a bus pass. : ( Then that starts the cycle of looking for employment and lacking funds before the next paycheck. He could use some help.

He started a new job today, but needs to change his storage unit to a more affordable location for him this week, and to keep up with some other expenses so he can get on more stable footing. I have helped him with some expenses, but I am limited in what I can do. So, with his permission, I wanted to bring it to all of you. Can you please give and help him out? $10? $20? Whatever your heart allows ... anything would be appreciated.

I would like to get him a minimum of one month's expenses ($473) to catch him up for this first month, or a maximum of 6 months of expenses ($1,714) to help set him up for success so he can have more stability without the pressure of looming payment deadlines or an expiring bus pass. Let's help this young man.

Asking for the following:

Storage - $78/1 month or $468 for 6 months

Phone - $55/1 month or $330 for 6 months

Gym/Shower - $150 for $25 month plus arrears, or $300 for 6 months

Monthly Bus Pass - $69 for one month, or $414 for 6 months

PO Box - $81 for 3 months, or $162 for 6 months

Truck rental for move - $40

One month total: $473

Or up to 6 months total: $1,714

I will be distributing the funds with him to each of the locations. If you'd like to know other ways you can give, I'm sure he would also appreciate any gift cards (Target, Walmart, Visa) if you'd like to do anything like that to help. EDIT 5/25: So beautiful that we have reached the 6-month goal so quickly - thank you!!! ❤️ If people would still like to give, I am prepared to continue to spread your love and help him with expenses beyond six months. He has struggled so much in life … this is all such a blessing for him. If we go beyond, I will create a surplus fund for him and will assess the best ways to utilize to provide more stability for him. Thank you again to all. ❤️❤️
