Help a CAF Veteran Regain His Service Dog Support
Chris is a Canadian Armed Forces veteran who served 12 years as an infantry soldier, achieving the rank of Corporal. Like many who have served, he now lives with PTSD and other service-related disabilities.
For a long time, Chris had the support of a service dog who played a critical role in his daily life. That dog wasn’t just a companion—he was stability, grounding, safety, and support through the hardest moments.
Recently, Chris lost his service dog, and the impact has been immediate and significant.
Without that support, day-to-day life has become much more difficult. Tasks that were once manageable are now overwhelming, and the absence of a trained service dog has created a serious gap in his ability to function and feel safe.
Chris has been formally reassessed through a tribunal, where it was determined that he is unable to work due to his service-related injuries. He is currently participating in rehabilitation through Veterans Affairs Canada.
We have the opportunity to acquire a trained service dog named Diesel.
Diesel is exactly what Chris needs:
• A calm, stable, and reliable presence
• Advanced training suited for PTSD support
• The ability to step into this role immediately
The cost to acquire Diesel is approximately $40,000. While this is significant, a trained service dog can provide up to 8 years of active service, restoring stability, independence, and quality of life.
We are asking for help to make this possible.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Acquiring Diesel
• Travel costs
• Ongoing support, handling, and certification
Chris has given 12 years of his life in service to this country. To be able to give back to him in this way would mean more than words can express.
Our hope is simple—to restore stability, safety, and independence so he can move forward and thrive again.
If you are able to donate, we are deeply grateful. If not, sharing this would mean just as much.
Thank you for your support.
