Help a Brother Help a Brother Beat Cancer

Hi. I'm Ryan Fisher. I never thought I'd be saying this:

"My brother has cancer."

It's a tough thing to accept and get your head around, but I know it's not even a drop of water in the ocean compared to being the one receiving the news

My brother was diagnosed with bladder cancer at the end of summer 2023. After multiple tests, he is now in the chemo seat, battling like a true warrior. I'm so very proud of his strength, attitude and his ability to forge forward accepting every thing that has been delivered to him.

It's almost certain that he will be needing surgery in the next few weeks. Unfortunately his job does not give him short term disability coverage. Therefore, I'm hoping to raise money to cover his salary while he can't work after the surgery, and for all future tests, recovery and anything else that comes his way.

In honor of my brother's courageous battle, I have signed up for a full marathon in May. I am dedicating this marathon to him. I would like to use this GoFundMe avenue as a type of pledge for his journey ahead, so he can fight his battle without the stress of not having a paycheck in the weeks he's in the hospital.

I have never run a marathon. I have run 3 half marathons, but never have I ever thought about running over 42 kms in a single go. I started my training at the beginning of January. My goal is to run a sub 4 hour marathon.

Please help a brother help a brother. I will update this site with his progress weekly, and possibly a bit about my marathon training journey.
