A member of Brockton Village community is in need of our support during a very challenging time in their life. Due to sensitive/safety issues they cannot be identified, we have members in our community who are in contact with this family and can vouch for their need.

This individual has experienced domestic violence and as a result lives with mental health issues. They are a single parent solely responsible financially for two teenagers and an infant. In addition to managing their own mental health, they are caring emotionally and spiritually for their children (one with their own mental health issues). Currently they are receiving social assistance -- but we know how high the cost of living can be, particularly in our city. Social assistance generally does not even cover basic needs, let alone feeding a whole family and paying rent. They also do not have a support network as many of their previous supports were linked with, or pushed away by their abusive ex-partner.

This individual needs help with groceries, baby items, electronics and paying bills. They have had to cut their home phone, cell phone and tv services to try and make rent and feed their family.
