Help a Bright Student Continue his Education

Merhaba. Ben Mehmet. New Jersey Rutgers Universitesi Honors College’tan tam burslu olarak kabul aldim. Bu burs yurtdışından başvuran uluslararası öğrencilere çok nadir verilen bir hak. Bizim için zor bir karar olsa da hem kendi geleceğim hem de ailemin geleceği için bu fırsatı değerlendirmek istedim. Yaşanan süreçten dolayı bana maddi destek sağlayamayacak olan ailemin çevremizden toparlayabildiği harçlıkla tek başıma Amerika’ya gelebildim. Bursum dört yıllık eğitim masraflarımı karşılıyor, fakat yurt masrafımı karşılamıyor. Bursun şartı olarak ilk yıl üniversite yurdunda kalmam gerekiyor. Yabancı öğrenci olduğum için devlet kredi imkanlarından faydalanamıyorum ve öğrenci olduğum için vize statüsünden dolayı henüz çalışamıyorum. İlk yılımda masraflarımı karşılamak için bana yardımcı olmanızı rica ediyorum. Teşekkür ederim.

Hello. My name is Mehmet. I was accepted to Rutgers University Honors College in New Jersey with a full scholarship. This scholarship is rarely given to international students. Although it was a difficult decision for us as a family, I wanted to take this opportunity for both my and my family's future. I was able to come to America with some pocket money my family gathered, but unfortunately they will not be able to provide any other financial support due to the difficult circumstances they face in Turkey. My scholarship covers four-years of tuition but does not cover my dorm. To receive the tuition scholarship, I must stay at the university dorm for the first year. Since I am a foreign student, I cannot take out government loans or work yet due to my visa status. Please consider helping me cover my expenses for my first year of college.
