Help My Family After Hurricane Helene

I'm starting this GoFundMe for my sister and her family to help them recover from the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. Her young family moved to Florida in 2021 and purchased their first home in the Tampa Bay/St. Pete area in August of this year. Not even two months later Hurricane Helene hit Florida. Their new home was in evacuation zone A and they evacuated on Wednesday, September 25th to an Air BnB in Orlando - taking with them only their two dogs and whatever else they could fit.

Unfortunately, their neighborhood was hit very hard and it’s a complete loss of the home they’d worked so hard to save for and 99% of their belongings. The waterlines in their home stand at 4.5 feet, ruining everything. Sofas, beds, crib, tables, dressers, pictures, bookshelves - EVERYTHING is no more.

The fundraiser goal is set at $1 because honestly, asking for help is uncomfortable for my family. But, there’s a four-year-old asking when he can go home and an eight-month-old with only a couple of onesies left to her name.

Rachel keeps saying that everything they NEED was saved; everyone is safe and has their health. And while everything that was lost was just stuff it was still THEIR stuff - their memories, their home, their life. So, if you feel so inclined, any amount would help them greatly in this unimaginable time. Thank you all so much.
