Hi, my name is Karen and I’m fundraising on behalf of a courageous 19-year-old young woman who is currently facing homelessness again—simply because she is gay.

After her lone surviving parent found out she was gay, she was kicked out of her home with no support. She spent her first days sleeping outside until a few of us in the community stepped in to help her find temporary shelter. She worked hard to get accepted into a local youth shelter and eventually into Job Corps, where she was making great progress toward stability and independence.

But now, the program funding she relied on has unexpectedly ended, and she is once again at risk of losing everything—her shelter, her momentum, and most importantly, her safety.

We are raising funds to help cover:

• Temporary safe housing

• Food, transportation, and essentials

• Support while she seeks stable work or education programs

She is smart, kind, and incredibly strong. She doesn’t want a handout—just a chance to get on her feet and keep moving forward. She has asked that I not share her name, so I am honoring her wishes. Any amount helps. If you can give, please do. If not, sharing this means the world.
