Hi, I am the mom of a beautiful 19-year-old daughter who has fought for almost 5 years for a diagnosis. She has been told, "It's all in her head," and "It is just anxiety." At 14 years old, she collapsed at school and couldn't walk or move her legs; this lasted 1 month. The episodes have increased to every 8 weeks. During this time, she is unable to walk for 3 weeks or more, needs total care for daily living 24/7, has immense pain throughout her whole body, loss of bladder control, and most recently has not been able to swallow food for over 3 weeks and is severely malnourished at under 95 pounds. It's a continuous cycle for her. This has been a long road of mental health struggles with nobody believing anything medical is wrong with her.

Finally, they admitted her 4 days ago because the only way she would get help was to be critical. They have done extensive testing with no answers as of yet. Her medical bills are going to be a lot. She has been unable to work really since she was 14-15.

I am not one to ask for help, but this has been financially draining on me as my income is not that much, and I am worried we are going to be evicted because I am staying with her at the hospital 24/7. I have 2 days of PTO, and her recovery could be months long.
