Help Little One, a poodle, who was scooped off of the road

Hello.

So everyone knows that this is not a nefarious post or request. Little One is at Animal Medical Center of Antelope Valley. He has been there since Friday and survived his trachea surgery- they found and repaired the leak. His name for now is “Little One.” His drain and bandages were removed. He is having his vaccinations and his ears flushed and treated today for an infection. He is eating and drinking well. He is very gentle and kind. He has not made a single peep. Quiet and gentle 4 to 5 year old.

Here are some of the his vet bills. I paid the last one which was over 1k but the vet cannot send it to me until he is discharged and he is still there being boarded.

Thank you so much!

Update as of 11/09/2025. Vet didn’t think he’d make it through surgery but he’s a fighter and he did!
My name is Hailey, I am the nurse taking care of your pet this evening. We are sending you this message to keep you updated on how Little One is doing.
Update: Little one is quiet and resting. He was a bit more active on his own today. He ate a great meal tonight on his own and is drinking water. He did begin receiving his oral medications tonight. He did urinate earlier this evening but has not passed a bowel movement. He is now tucked in for some much needed rest

Today, I picked a white poodle off the middle of the street in the desert where I work (dogs are dumped a lot there). I thought he was dead. He had been attacked and had several puncture wounds, the worst to his neck. By the look of him, he had been outside a long time; it is incredible he survived. I took him to the vet, and he has a damaged trachea. They are stabilizing him tonight, and he is having surgery in the morning to fix it. I paid in advance because he was in awful pain, and the neck puncture began to bleed a lot due to the fluid build-up in his trachea. He couldn't eat and had raspy breath. The bills are very large, and I honestly cannot afford them, but I couldn't let this guy die. He is only 5 years old and deserves to live. Thank you so much.

100% of funds will go to this pup's vet bill. Trying to figure out how to attach a copy of the bill.
