A dear friend of many years could really use your help! She is one of the strongest women that I have ever met and she has always been there for so many, so now it is our turn to be there for her. Before I get into too much, I will start by saying that due to the nature of what she is going through, I will have to be extremely vague for her and her children's wellbeing. This friend of mine was able to escape a very toxic and controlling spouse. Information about her marriage are not details that I can share but please take my word that it was bad. Now that she and her children are free and safe, the financially hard part of her new chapter has begun. She has been unable to hire a lawyer for her divorce because her ex drained their joint account. There are several of us that want to find a way to hire a lawyer for her divorce and other legal matters such as future hearings regarding custody and child support. If there is money left over, it will be used to help pay for their survival as she sees fit (i.E. shelter, food, clothing, etc).
Many that know me also know this friend, as she is a well loved person that so many people care about. She means so much to so many of us and we want nothing more than to see her get what is fair, to be safe, and for her kids to be safe and well cared for.
For transparency, there is currently not a beneficiary named, as we are working on finding the best way to transfer the funds that are gifted here directly to the lawyer that she would like to hire without her name being made public. We will provide more information in the future once we have that part worked out. We just wanted to get this up and running as soon as possible so that she can pay the retainer. Thank you for being so understanding of why we need to keep her identity anonymous. For those that do know her, please refrain from using her name, the kids names, or other identifying information in the comment section. Also, please note that my friend does live in a different state than me. Because we currently do not have the beneficent named, I did use my zip.
