Hello Community!

As some of you may know, I am a Social Worker. I have recently been connected with a young mother, who has been through horrific events of human trafficking and severe abuse. As a result of this, she has reached out to our church for support, love, and guidance. The immediate need is financial. As a result of the events, one of her children has been taken and put into foster care outside of the state. Despite weekly visits and a mediator saying that best interest of the child is to be with mom, the state is still trying to adopt her child out. Mother needs help with funds for a retainer fee for a lawyer and any other legal costs of fighting for her child in another state, as well as any other legal fees that come from the pending case. Mom is currently working while pregnant, and doing everything she can, while also trying her best to heal from such traumatic events. So any additional funds will be to help mom get on her feet and provide stable housing and transportation for herself and her children, which will also help her appeal to the court. Due to the nature of the situation, moms identity is remaining private at this time.
