My name is Kala, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for a dear friend, a courageous mother of two small children whose life has been turned upside down. Her husband—the love of her life and the sole provider for their family—has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

This diagnosis has not only taken a devastating toll on his health but has also left the family in crisis. Once the breadwinner, he is now fighting for his life and struggling to find the will to keep going. As his treatments continue, the bills and stress have only grown.

This amazing mother has stepped up in every way imaginable. She taught herself to drive and obtained her driver’s license so she could begin supporting her family—taking her husband to appointments, her children to school, and herself to work opportunities. One of her children also requires special care, making her days long, exhausting, and emotionally draining.

Despite her tireless efforts, the family has fallen behind on rent and utilities. She is doing everything in her power to hold her family together, but the weight is overwhelming. Her faith is wavering under the strain. Her husband, exhausted from treatments and pain, struggles to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
