Help a Brave Mother and Children Escape Abuse
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nicole, and I am creating this fundraiser for a very dear friend that I have known for 16 years. For her safety and privacy, I can't share her name or photo. I can personally vouch for her and her two children. They are real, they are hurting, and right now they desperately need our help.
The Situation:
After more than 15 years of marriage, my friend has finally found the courage to leave an abusive and controlling husband. He struggles with serious mental illness, including borderline personality disorder and narcissistic traits, which have fueled years of emotional and financial abuse.
For years, she was constantly berated, shamed, and made to feel small. Her health, both mental and physical have deteriorated under the weight of the toxic environment. The abuse has now escalated to her children. Her teenager is struggling with suicidal thoughts, and her young daughter is showing signs of emotional distress.
She has stayed in this way too long as she has had no support system. She was terrified of leaving and being on her own. She is now choosing courage over fear. With our help she and her kids can finally be free.
The Needs:
Starting over after so many years of control is overwhelming. This is how donations will directly help:
- Security deposit and first month's rent for a safe home.
- Food and gas for daily survival.
- Legal and therapy support to protect her and help the children heal.
- Career supplies to begin a new profession and gain financial independence. (This is something her husband has refused to support)
- Basic furnishings and essentials for a home. Just the basics- no designer items, only what is needed to create a safe and stable place for her children.
- Basic care and supplies for the family's two cats, who are a source of comfort and support for the family.
Every dollar donated will go toward giving them safety, stability, and a fresh start.
Why this matters:
This is more than just a fundraiser; it is a lifeline. Without outside support, she can't do this alone. No one should have to choose between abuse and poverty. Together, we can give her the resources she needs to escape and start again.
A note about Anonymity:
For her safety, my friend's name and photo will not be shared here. I know anonymity can make people hesitate, but please trust me when I say this is real. I have walked beside her through years of pain, and I will continue to stand by her as she takes this leap of faith toward freedom.
How you can help:
- Donate: any amount big or small, makes an immediate difference.
- Share: Even if you can't give, spreading this story will help her reach people who can.
- Encourage: leave words of support. Knowing she is not alone is powerful fuel for her strength.
If this campaign goes over the goal, additional funds will go towards ongoing therapy for the 3 of them and legal costs. Additional plans for exceeding the goal will be to donate to organizations supporting other survivors of domestic abuse. Your generosity will continue to ripple outward.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and helping my friend and her children to step in to a life of safety, healing, and hope. Together we can give them the chance they deserve to rebuild.
