This past December, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38 after she found a lump during a self-exam. This is not something we planned at this age for her to battle this nasty disease. She is a fighter and decided that she did not want to live looking over her shoulder everyday, so she made the choice to have a bilateral mastectomy at the end of January where they also took 2 lymph nodes.
She received amazing news that the lymph nodes were clear, but a few days later found out her ONCO test was too high and she needs chemotherapy. She has been so strong and set such an example for our 2 young girls (9 & 11). She has remained positive and went back to work after just taking a week off to recover because she missed her kiddos so badly.
She is a 1st grade teacher and we all know how teaching is a work of heart, but does not pay what it should. The medical bills are already starting to come in and its overwhelming. She is doing everything she can, but is worried about the financial burden this is creating for our family and I don't want that for her. We all just want her to focus on getting better and staying strong!
She needs 8 rounds of chemo...4 of which will be the "red devil" treatment. After chemo ends, she will have an additional surgery to hopefully finish everything up. Any help would be welcome to help her stay stress free during this time. All she's asked for is prayers during this time to help. Thank you!
