Help a Brave Miner’s Family Recover

I’m reaching out to you on behalf of a Colombian family who urgently needs our help. The family consists of a father, mother, and two children, and they live in Muzo, Boyacá - Colombia—a region known for its emerald mines.

The father is the sole breadwinner of the family and has always worked independently in the mines, seeking emeralds to provide for his loved ones. The work is dangerous and requires courage and skill. Tragically, during a recent day in the mines, he suffered a devastating accident. While handling dynamite that failed to detonate, it unexpectedly exploded when he approached to check on it.

The explosion caused severe injuries. He lost one eye, and the other is currently in recovery, leaving him blind for the moment. He also suffered injuries to his face, losing part of his nose, and some fingers were severely damaged. He is now in Bogotá, Colombia, receiving medical treatment, and his family is praying that he will regain his sight.

This family is now facing an incredibly difficult time. With the father unable to work and no other source of income, they are struggling to cover medical bills and meet basic living expenses. The road to recovery is uncertain, and they need as much support as possible during this challenging period.
