Help a Black-Owned business continue the Magic!

Hello, we are Tracy & Sherrice, two sisters who had a dream of creating a safe space where young girls could be celebrated for who they are and encouraged to have self-acceptance and love for one another through celebratory events!

This dream became a reality in 2018, when we opened Sugar Plum Parties, in Green Brook, NJ. In pursuit of this dream, we invested financially and emotionally as many businesses do. However, it is our intricate attention to details, focus on customization and our obsession with ensuring high quality service, that makes our venue so special and allows our clients to feel like royalty, even if only for a few hours.

Not only do we specialize in creating memorable experiences, but we also use our platform to inspire, encourage and instill confidence in our young guests. To put it another way, Sugar Plum sprinkles a little "fairy dust" as a reminder that the light inside always shines bright!

Unfortunately, just as our dream business started to shine, we were forced to shut our doors for six months, due to the pandemic. During this time, we recognized the heightened importance of our goal to celebrate and empower girls, as well as keep connected to our audience. We hosted a series of complimentary virtual events, in hopes that this measure would help our community and keep our newly established business relevant.

While this effort kept our loyal clients engaged, our shift in event delivery inhibited our ability to reach new customers or build our brand. We suffered a tremendous deficit in revenue which continues to threaten our ability to keep our doors open today.

As one can imagine, a business built on social interaction, such as ours, remains at a great risk for sustainability during a pandemic and though we have been able to reopen our doors, the aftereffect of the pandemic continues to cause a ripple effect for us. Customers have been slow to book events because of fear of being in close proximity with others, which results in smaller revenue generation, and the overhead costs continue to snowball. We are humbly asking for your support to help us get back on track.

We would be remiss if we didn’t share that requesting this type of support is extremely difficult for us and doesn't come naturally. We have tried to manage this quietly, but sadly we are now in jeopardy of losing our lease. We believe so strongly in our mission and our ability to grow Sugar Plum Parties, Greenbrook, NJ.

The prospect of losing our business is not only personal but impacts a broader community. We recognize that we inspire and encourage other women and aspiring entrepreneurs who look like us, to invest in themselves. We are examples for the girls that we uplift through our events. We are role models for our children. Letting go of this dream without a fight is not an option.

Won’t you help us sustain our dream. No amount is too small. We are forever grateful.
