A dear friend of mine, a Black trans sex worker and gifted artist, is in dire straits because of Covid and is in continued danger of not being able to pay her rent.
Sex work has been nigh on impossible in lockdown, and she's tried for five years to get a regular job, and met only transphobia and racism, with people needing her to have 'more experience' but no way of getting that experience.
Freelance work as an artist, even as brilliant as she is, is extremely erratic in these times.
This person has been (metaphorically) by my side since the first day of my transition and if you care for me, then it would mean the world if you would help her to get through the next few months until the world circumstances shift.
Finding a safe place to live as a Black trans woman is incredibly hard, so helping her to stay where she is also means she'll be able to not be in danger.
After much soul searching and attempting other avenues, my friend has asked me to set up this gofundme for her. If you have any financial buffer at all, please kick in as much as you can.
