So where do I start? Ok, I'm 23, a black trans woman living in Columbus, GA, and in short, I need to relocate to Washington state. Now for the long form, here we go:
For all of 2025, I have been saving up and gearing towards relocation, whether it's to Colorado, Minneapolis, or in my current case, Washington. Problem is, around mid-April, tensions in my family home were escalating to a point where I just had to survive. My brother is heavily transphobic and my mother is indifferent to his actions. At one point, that man was ready to put his hands on me, and she did nothing to stop it, to stop him. I wasn't able to put away the money since I needed to eat, and things paused. For 3 months straight, I lived off of fast food, weed gummies, and trauma, and as of July 17, I moved out. I finally got a moment of peace; I visited Washington to see what it's like. But that peace was only a fleeting moment. It's currently a month later, and I find myself broke, living in a shared living space with a woman who hates her housemates and another who I thought was a friend. I get no peace. At work, my good manager left to work at another store, so I have to deal with the bad manager, and this guy just demoted me like today. It won't be long before my hours get cut or I flat out lose my job. I need help, I've got to evacuate this crazy state and make one hell of a jump across this country, but I cannot do it alone. Please, if anyone can help, even if it isn't much, I will gladly appreciate it. This trans girl will make it to Washington even if I have to leave everything behind to do it.
