Hey everyone! I’m Sam (they/them) and I’m a Black, agender, queer person who is raising funds for my top surgery this year.

After years of talking about it with friends, doing a lot of research, and finding a surgeon who was willing to work on me, a fat person (anti-fatness is very real y'all), I can finally move forward in my gender-affirming journey!!

My surgery date is scheduled for April 2024, though it's tentative until I get the preauthorization from my insurance. I have an out-of-pocket maximum of $3k that I'm anticipating maxing out since this isn't a cheap surgery (I won't know the exact cost until after my surgery since my insurance can't provide me with total costs yet) and also need underarm/auxiliary liposuction during the surgery to prevent bulging and/or dog ears, which is an extra $2.5k that my insurance won’t cover. The 6k will help cover these bills along with GoFundMe fees.
