Moving August 1st 2021!
Kay currently lives in a place where zir mental health isn’t understood or respected. The rules of the building zi currently lives in is also aiding in this deterioration of zir’s mental capacity and has finally managed away to get out of zir lease! Kay has now got two months to find a place !
Kay is a 23 year old, queer, demi girl. Zi has been working with youth form marginalized communities for over 7 years. Kay currently suffers from multiple mental health diagnoses, that really effects zir’s ability to work. Zi is also on ODSP and a current SSW student. Kay has a background working with youth coming from diverse standings in life and brings zir own understanding of issues impacting their world. Kay’s goal is to not only bring/raise awareness of the issues impacting the BIPOC and LGBTQ2S communities when it comes to the Camp and the Outdoor Education world. But to also find the ways that accessibly connects the two so that everyone can experience the benefits and joys of nature. Currently Kay is on a Board of Directors for a camp, and is the works of starting a business of zir own. Zi had a job working with youth in zir community however, it got canceled because of Covid. Kay has had to go through and work through zir owns issues dealing with life and now they’re just trying to figure it out in the easiest way without adding any extra stress.
Kay suffers with Agoraphobia which cause zir to spend quite a while inside. This Gofundme will help Kay move into a space where zi doesn’t have to give up safety for a home.
I’ve created this Gofundme to help me move into a safer space. I’m looking to raise enough money to help with moving, buying/getting furniture, covering first and last months rent, food, having some money in my account for the landlords and honestly just supporting me in this process. I’ve been living in homes that weren’t good for my mental health. Each space taking pieces away from me forcing me to constantly be in a state of survivor mode. Roommates and family members who don’t understand what it means to be Black Queer and Non-Binary. Ones who don’t understand the importance of safety and a community. With this help and support I’ll be able to find a place where I can live not because I have to, but because I want too. It’ll give me a chance to cultivate a community, that gives understanding to one another instead of tearing each other down. I’ve been suffering with mental health issues, for most of my life. Living with a Borderline Personality Disorder I’ve struggled to make friends, uphold relationships, and actively move though life comfortably.
Support me in getting out of an unsafe environment and into a better one!
