Happy Black History Month!

I'm helping my friends, a Black, Queer couple manage this fundraiser as they seek help with rent and living expenses. If you're able, we'd be grateful for your support.

In early February 2026, the main working partner was hospitalized after a trip to the ER due to experiencing debilitating pain and is now scheduling surgery in the next 1-2 months (pending doctor availability). Due to being hospitalized, snow days, and disability flares that include intense pain, she's missing days at her job and have had her hours cut. Since this role is a temporary position, all missed days are unpaid.

The other partner recently started a part-time job in the school system, but also missed quite a few days because of the snow ( and the subsequent school closures).

Their rent averages $2,280/mo ($2,394 with late fees), and we're aiming to cover at least 3 months of rent with the remaining going towards things like transportation to and from work, groceries, and other household, and medical, expenses.
