I’ve recently come to terms with the fact that I need a mobility aid and while that’s been a hard pill to swallow, so has the cost of the rollator I need. I’ve had Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) for my entire life but wasn’t diagnosed until I was 32. EDS has affected me in more ways than I can count but the most noticeable are chronic fatigue and lower back pain, blood pooling in my legs and joint instability. I also have a form of dysautonomia called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome or POTS for short. This causes me to be unsteady on my feet and get dizzy and my heart rate spike randomly. Having a rollator would allow me to sit down anywhere when I’m dizzy and help prevent a full on POTS episode. Despite my disabilities, I am still pretty active and love to go hiking when my body decides it’s going to cooperate but the increased pain and fatigue has made me look into a rollator to help me when my body needs a break.

The reason I’ve chosen the ByAcre Carbon Overland is because it’s very lightweight at 14lbs and it has all terrain tires so I can still take it on easy hiking and walking trails. I may have issues with my tissues and roll more joints than Snoop Dogg but I refuse to let my disability define me and keep me from doing the things I love most.

I’m asking for your help in giving me a chance at better mobility and quality of life. I’ve tried going through my insurance but they will only cover a very basic rollator that weighs 25lbs and does not collapse fully to put in my vehicle. I recently had to put a new transmission in my truck and doing so I don’t have any savings to buy this rollator with. I’m asking for $1,300 to cover the cost of the rollator, and a few vital accessories I need. Please donate if you can and share my post.
