My name is Mary and I am raising money for my friend's family to secure legal assistance.
My friend's beloved brother is facing felony charges that could land him in prison for 7-25 years, or could get him deported. He is only 23 years old. What kind of country do we live in where our neighbors can be sent away for longer than they have been alive, for something they may not have even done?
In order for him to have the best possibility to fight this case, his family needs funds to secure an attorney. They have already found a lawyer through a trusted family friend, but the legal fees will be over $7,000 for the initial legal work alone. The family does not have access to this kind of funds, but desperately needs to be able to access a good attorney for this case within the next month so he can have qualified legal help when he goes to trial.
He is a vibrant member of the community, a loving brother and son, and most importantly a beloved uncle to two young nieces. Please donate so that this family has a fighting chance to stay together.
