Hi friends, fans, and everyone who has ever believed in us,

We are Nika and Alex, vocalist and guitarist for Chase the Comet, the band you’ve loved, followed, and supported for years. Right now, we are facing the most desperate and terrifying moment of our lives (and we've had many of them before, truly, but now is when our future gets decided). Our artist visas - for which we have fought so hard and that have allowed us to record and tour in the US - expire in March 2026.

With everything going on in the US - the immigration policies toughening and ICE agents taking people, who have been here legally for years, off their flights and deporting them a few months away, and without urgent action, we could be forced to leave the U.S. forever - losing everything we’ve built: our home, our music, our booking arragements and our connection with the fans who have stood by us for years.

To be able to continue performing and building our future here, in the USA, we must secure 2 extraordinary abilities green cards, and the process is not just extremely complicated, it is shockingly expensive - even more expensive in the recent years as fees have been dramatically inscreased!

Here’s exactly what we need and why your support matters. The government filing fees for classification EB-1A, Extraordinary Abilities is $1015 per person + $2800 per person for premium processing to secure the USCIS response before our current visas expire ($7630 total).

After we have the USCIS approval for said petitions, we have to apply for a long and difficult procedure of Adjustment of Status ($1,440 per person), work authorization ($260 per person) and advance parole - the paper allowing an applicant to leave the country if needed and come back while the case adjudication is still pending ($630 per person). These fees come down to the total of $4,660.

We’ve already paid for the necessary medical exams and vaccinations, which cost $800 for the two of us, and we had a few attorney consultations ($300), saving thousands of dollars by preparing our green card petitions ourselves but we will need the attorney's help for the tricky and difficult Adjustment of Status process ($6,000 for the 2 of us).

Altogether, the total for our green card process will cost our band $18,290 (the campaign goal is automatically separated into parts so it looks like a smaller amount at first).

We know we asked you for help with our visas before but this is the final step of this whole terrible document struggle. We are asking for this help because without it, we cannot guarantee our future here. Every day we wait is another day our legal status and our ability to continue performing slip further away.

Nika is working tirelessly to schedule shows in 2026, to meet fans, to share new songs, and to continue the music we love - but we cannot do this alone. Your support is not just financial; it is literally a lifeline that allows us to stay, keep performing, and keep our music alive for everyone who has ever loved it.

This journey has been incredibly difficult. We invested heavily in 2022 with Pavement Entertainment to grow the band, and while we were lucky to open for CKY and Yngwie Malmsteen later in 2024, the promised support never fully materialized, leaving us to pay not just for travel, but for the chance to perform. Our FANmily also knows that we bought our RV to be able to tour - and that credit card debt keeps growing since we never could get any loans approved.

Recently, we terminated our label agreement, extremely dissatisfied with the collaboration, and our finances are stretched to the limit. Without your help, our visas will expire, and the only alternative would be leaving the U.S., restarting the process from abroad, and potentially waiting 1.5–2 years to return - time we simply cannot afford if we want to continue our music and keep using our RV to keep performing.

We hoped we would not have to launch yet another GoFundMe, but this is our reality, and we are turning to the people who have always believed in us - and hopefully not just those who listen to our music, but also those who love us as people. Every donation, every share, every word of support brings us closer to FINALLY living the future we were working towards for so many years.
