Rawley isn't your average 9-year-old. While other kids are playing video games, he's a musical force of nature, captivating audiences with his saxophone from the streets of Salinas to some of California's most historic stages. After being captivated by viral saxophonist Leo P, Rawley's musical journey began on a discounted alto saxophone from a a popular online store. He honed his skills and, with the money he earned busking, he upgraded to a student tenor sax. His talent quickly earned him a reputation, and his music began to move people in a profound way. On occasion you can to see people brought to tears by his performances—not just because of his age or talent, but because his music touches something deep within them. This ability to invoke such emotion is a rare gift for any artist, let alone a 9-year-old.
His passion and skill caught the attention of his music teacher, who broke school policy to let the fourth grader play the school's baritone saxophone. It was love at first sight. The baritone became Rawley’s signature instrument, allowing him to take his unique, powerful sound to a new level. Many say, ”That thing is as big as he is!”
Rawley's accomplishments are nothing short of astounding. He has played for seniors in local convalescent homes, green lit to perform the national anthem for the Monterey Bay FC professional soccer team, and earned popularity on Instagram with videos that display his talent and passion. But one of his proudest moments was being invited by the band 'Hella Rad' and Cowboy Starr to perform on the stage of the historic Golden State Theatre in downtown Monterey. This is the same stage where some of the world's greatest entertainers have played.
Now, Rawley is at a critical point in his journey. The school only allows him to rent the baritone saxophone for a limited time this is so other students may pursue goals of their own. To continue his rapid growth and to ensure he can keep creating and performing, he needs his own baritone sax.
