I am a soon to be 72 years old woman trying to make ends meet every month. I still work full time out of necessity. Used to be for the extras. I fell down my stairs on Valentine's morning at 545a on my way out of the house. They say I broke both legs. The ankle of my right foot and fibula of right leg are broken. Many metatarsal bones of my left foot are also broken. Unfortunately they are located where vital blood vessels are also located. This foot may need surgery and it is non weight bearing. I have a boot for right foot and a walker. This is close to my worst nightmare. In addition to the medical and equipment bills I will be responsible for, I find out that there is a 2 week waiting period for short term disability. It can be a struggle when I miss a day's work let alone two weeks!! Then, if approved, I only can collect half of my wage amount. I need help to get through this ordeal . Can you help me? I would appreciate whatever you can do. I am still waiting anxiously for an appointment to see if I need surgery which only enhance my anxiety. I have never done anything like this before so I am hoping my past compassion and generosity to others will come back to me. Thank you.
